The Molecular Parasitology Meeting (MPM) is the premier conference for presenting advances in fundamental parasitology and related fields.
MPM brings scientists from across the world together each year to share, learn, and create new friendships and collaborations. Last year, over 50 countries were represented. The meeting will include scientific talks, poster sessions, and social and networking events. Presentations at MPM feature research about a wide range of parasites. The majority of research focuses on understanding molecular mechanisms of parasite biology and control and spans a wide range of topics and approaches, including biochemistry, cell biology, molecular biology, host-parasite interactions, vector-parasite interactions, population biology, ‘omics analyses, and development of drugs, vaccines, and other new tools.
The next MPM will be held September 15-19, 2024 at the Marine Biological Laboratory in Woods Hole, Massachusetts, USA.
Through donations from MPM attendees, journals, foundations and other generous individuals and institutions, we will again be able to offer a limited number of travel awards to students and postdocs from low- and middle-income countries (LMIC). Travel Awards will cover full registration and accommodation (room and board) at the meeting. Depending on the availability of additional funds, we may also be able to provide limited support to cover the cost of air travel to the meeting. Awardees will be notified of this possibility by May 2024.
To help overseas attendees navigate the possible lengthy visa process, we have instated an application process with a firm deadline of February 29, 2024.
Applications must include:
- Abstract for your presentation
- A current Curriculum vitae (CV)
- A statement of why you wish to attend MPM
- A single letter of reference
Applications will be promptly reviewed, and awards will be selected by the organisers based on available funds. Award notifications will be made by the end of March. Registration for the meeting will open later in the spring. Virtual registration fee waivers will be available for residents of low- and middle-income countries.
