The West African Centre for Cell Biology of Infectious Pathogens (WACCBIP) will hold the sixth in the series of its annual WACCBIP Research Conference (WRC) from July 20-22, 2022. The theme for this year’s WACCBIP Research Conference is “Building Forward: Elevating African Research Innovation and Output.”
Still keeping with the pandemic-related developments, this year’s conference will be a hybrid event, offering more flexibility and even greater networking opportunities. This means there will still be a large in-person component in the WACCBIP Conference Hall at the University of Ghana in Accra, Ghana, plus a virtual component. With this announcement, the Management Committee of WACCBIP wishes to inform the global scientific community that registration and call for abstracts for WRC 2022 are hereby opened.
To present at the conference, (Oral/Poster) you are required to submit an abstract as directed below. Conference attendance is also open to non-presenters. Registration is free for all.
This year’s WRC 2022 conference will accept abstracts within five thematic areas:
- Drug Response and Discovery
- Immune Response and Disease Pathogenesis
- Host Genetics and Pathogens Genomics
- Molecular Epidemiology and Diagnosis
- Pathogen Vector Biology and Vaccine Discovery
Interested presenters should register and submit an abstract of at least 300 words but not exceeding 350 words, in English via this link by 31st May 2022. Abstracts should be structured as follows:
- Title

The submission of an abstract implies your consent to let us publish it in the Conference proceedings. All submitted abstracts will be reviewed and assigned to the appropriate session (Oral/Poster)
All presenting authors of accepted abstracts are expected to attend the Conference (virtual/in-person)
